We all have this in common: We want 2022 to be a great year! To make it happen, you need a smart competitive strategy and dynamic leadership throughout your entire organization. You also need to overcome the Covid Crisis, adapt to the changes that have occured, and move forward.
Below are five strategies for businesses leaders to help drive business development and five strategies for business professionals to help make 2022 a profitable and productive year.
Businesses Leaders:
1) Create a smart competitive strategy and strive to be the leader in your industry. Conduct a competitive analysis of your two biggest competitors and outshine them in every way: Create a value-added offering that makes customers say “WOW;” Gain market share with that offering and instruct your sales team to make more face-to-face contact with customers; Make execution a strong part of that competitive strategy.
2) Be a great leader! Create a robust and attractive vision of the future that people will respect and believe in; Communicate your vision, and thank the people who work who work hard to complete the projects you initiate; Demonstrate your core values to that people will come to respect, value and trust you; Make good decisions under pressure, with the confidence that you’ve gathered all information needed to make the best decision; Inspire and motivate your team so that they’ll “go to the ends of the Earth” to give you their very best.
3) Innovate. Encourage every employee to innovate, stretch, and grow. Refrain from saying, “We tried that before.” Replace “that won’t work” with “what if.” Give your people the freedom to make new ideas come to life! Brainstorm to come up with breakthrough ideas on sales, marketing, advertising and customer loyalty programs.
4) Develop and maintain a reputation for excellence in all you do; Make excellence one of your core values. Sit down with your team and clearly define the meaning of excellence and how to demonstrate it.
5) Establish a High-Performance Culture. Establishing a high-performance culture is critical if you want to experience business growth and profitability. You can never take your competition for granted. Everyone in your organization must have total dedication to your customers and be engaged in your culture. Employee satisfaction and customer loyalty tie in together. You will then be in a better position to boost sales, increase profitability, establish higher levels of customer loyalty and be able to maintain strength in the marketplace.

Business Professionals:
1) Be a leader in your company. Commit to modeling your company’s core values. Focus on their mission and vision. Display a strong work-ethic. Be a team leader. Boldly bring something new to your company or team. Help them with their business development efforts. You don’t need a title to be a leader.
2) Be accountable. Know you are responsible and liable for great things: Recognize that the customer provides your paycheck; Take responsibility for a positive result in your work and bringing a positive attitude to your job each day; Be accountable to yourself; Set personal goals as well; Make some promises to yourself and commit to keep them.
3) Develop entrepreneurial thinking. Understand the pressures involved in running and managing a business and its employees: Be open to change, creative, and accountable.
4) Become a knowledge expert. Don’t leave professional development up to your company. Take charge of your skills and your career; Love to learn and, in doing so, you will become a invaluable asset to your company. The books you never read, the webinars and seminars you never took, and the education you never acquired will hold you back from reaching your full potential
5) Weed your garden. Your people with whom you associate can drag you down or build you up. Associate with winners. Better yet, associate with people who are smarter than you are: Eliminate or “tune-out” the pessimists, moaners, groaners, gossips, gripers, and nit-pickers; Work on your self-confidence; Get rid of clutter. Clean out the closets of your life and “LET-GO.”
These are just some of the things you can do to make an impact in 2022. I’ll be pulling for you.
